The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 9, and Brother Joe’s Youth and Street Ministry will hold their annual appreciation luncheon to honor local law enforcement officers.
The meals for Detroit Police Department officers, donated by several restaurants, will be served from noon-3 p.m. on Friday (July 26, 2019) at Cass Park, 2733 2nd Avenue in Detroit. Officers who can’t be away from their precincts can contact VVA Chapter 9 at 586.404.0034 or Brother Joe at 313.414.8190 for food delivery.
“We want to show unity and respect among veterans and public safety officials, and also say ‘thank you’ to the officers who put their lives on the line every day,” explained Paul Palazzolo, president of VVA Chapter 9. “I can’t say enough about harmony and community spirit.”
Restaurants and other companies supporting the day of appreciation are:

ABOUT THE VVA CHAPTER: Organizers for Chapter 9 trace the group’s history to 1979, when member Cef Suarez collaborated with others to help ensure that members were getting medical and other benefits. It was the ninth VVA chapter formed in the country.
