John Thomas Lynch, age 83, of Troy, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home in Troy, MI on December 25, 2025.
John was born in Washington, D.C., and later made his home in Troy, Michigan, where he built a life rooted in service, family, and community. He was married to Leslie Lynch, whom he wed in Birmingham, Michigan, sharing many devoted years together.
John proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam War veteran. After his military service, he pursued a career as a psychologist, dedicating his professional life to helping others. He remained deeply committed to veteran advocacy and previously served as a board member of Vietnam Veterans of America.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Leslie Lynch; his daughter, Michelle Richards, and her husband, John; his cherished grandchildren, John Michael Richards and Ava Rose Richards; and his sister-in-law, Louise Reza.
John will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery, honoring his military service and lifelong dedication to others.
He will be remembered for his integrity, compassion, and quiet strength, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
