George Earl Adams Jr. of Shelby Township, MI, Age 78, passed away on July 27, 2023. Beloved husband to Isabelle. Loving father of John (Sue) Olley. Cherished grandfather of Breanna, Dominic, and Alyssa. Dear brother of Janice (Peter) Piccini, Gary (Pamela), and the late William. Fun and loving uncle of Wendy (Teddy), Heidi (Steve), Richard, Jason (Brianna), Danielle (Teddy), and great uncle of Kaylee, Nathaniel, Morgan, Alexandria, Gabriella, the late Jacob, the late Desmond, Kendra, Paxton, Emerson, Hudson, and Aiden. He was predeceased by his parents, George Sr., and Gloria, and his treasured grandmother Lydia.
George, a member of VVA Detroit Chapter 9 since the early 1980’s and later a very active board member has contributed immeasurablyto his fellow veterans and the community at large. He was a major contributor towards the 1985 VVA 2nd National Convention hosted by Chapter 9. George religiously supported the Chapter’s homeless veteran outreach programs, parades, Detroit Police appreciation luncheons, and overseas military personnel in the form of dry socks which were greatly valued by those serving in the hot Middle East. His real estate background helped tremendously in the negotiations and sale of “LZ Motown.”
Visitation was held Saturday, August 19th, with a Funeral Service followed by Military honors at Wujek – Calcaterra & Sons Inc., (Shelby) 54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile Rd.
