Larry Robert Pretzer of Macomb passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the age of 72 years.
Larry was born on March 17, 1949, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. He was a son of Wallace and Ella (nee Shotnik) Pretzer. Larry was a 1967 graduate of Chippewa Valley High School and started trade school after graduation. With the Vietnam War in full force, Larry was drafted into the United States Army. He was a proud Army Veteran and was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal w/ 2 Bronze Service Stars, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ 60 Device and Army Commendation Medal. On May 26, 1972, Larry married Christine Delmotte at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Macomb Township. He settled back into civilian life and worked in the landscaping industry for many years but retired from the US Postal Service as a truck driver.. Larry was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church for over 20 years. He loved being a member of the Macomb Ritual Team Honor Guard, Commander of the Purple Heart and member of VFW Post 4659. Larry was a wonderful husband to Chris and a cherished friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Larry is survived by his wife, Christine; sister, Janice (Jim) Tesch; sister-in-law, Donna Pretzer; uncle, David (Darlene) Pretzer and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Larry is predeceased by his brothers, Gene, Alan and Richard; and parents, Wallace and Ella.
