Vietnam Veterans of America Detroit Chapter 9 is incredibly proud to have commissioned a powerful three-part mural honoring Michigan’s Vietnam War veterans, now permanently displayed inside the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center in downtown Detroit.
Created by Detroit artist Chazz Miller, this remarkable tribute represents more than art. It tells the story of service, sacrifice, courage, and a generation of veterans who did not always receive the welcome home they deserved.
As Chapter 9 President Paul Palazzolo shared with WXYZ Channel 7, this mural is also part of the healing process for Vietnam veterans.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Chazz Miller, the Detroit-Wayne Joint Building Authority, and everyone who helped bring this important tribute to life.
Our mission is simple: Honor their service. Preserve their legacy. Ensure they are never forgotten. Thank you to WXYZ-TV Channel 7 and reporter Demetrios Sanders for sharing this meaningful story.
Welcome Home, Vietnam Veterans.
